Who is responsible?

Jan-David Stärk, Wallenhorst, Germany, is responsible for the processing described here. For privacy questions and requests, please contact me on LinkedIn. The email address listed in the legal notice is not yet active.

Visiting this website

When you visit this website, technical request data is processed, including your IP address, the requested URL, request time, browser information and response status. This is necessary to deliver the page, diagnose errors and protect the service against abuse.

The legal basis for necessary delivery and security processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website and protecting the private directory.

Hosting and security

This website is hosted on Vercel’s Hobby plan by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, United States. Vercel delivers the website and runs the password-checking endpoint. Its firewall processes request metadata, including IP addresses, to detect abuse and enforce rate limits. I do not export logs to other services.

Vercel and the infrastructure providers it engages receive data needed to provide hosting and security. Vercel describes processing it performs for its own purposes in its Privacy Notice; information about its subprocessors is available in the Vercel Trust Center.

Retention

Vercel documents a retention period of one hour for runtime logs on the Hobby plan. This is specific to runtime logs, not a promise that all hosting, firewall or security data is deleted after one hour. See Vercel’s runtime log limits.

For data Vercel processes for its own purposes, its Privacy Notice states that retention is limited to the period needed for the stated purposes and legal or contractual obligations, followed by deletion or anonymisation when no legitimate need remains. Vercel does not specify one universal deletion period for all such data. The application does not maintain a separate visitor database.

International processing

Vercel uses international infrastructure, so processing may take place outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Vercel states that it is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. For transfers covered by that framework, the EU adequacy decision is the transfer mechanism; Vercel also describes using standard contractual clauses or other safeguards where required. Details and references to the safeguards are available in Vercel’s transfer information and its published Data Processing Addendum.

Unlocking private links

If you submit the password form, the entered password is sent to this website’s server and checked to decide whether to return the private links. The application does not log submitted passwords or store them in cookies or browser storage. The purpose is to restrict access to the private directory, based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Unlocked links remain in the page’s memory until you lock or reload it. This clears the displayed list; it cannot erase information already retained by your browser, such as network responses or browsing history. You do not need to enter a password to use the public directory.

Cookies, fonts and external content

The website’s application does not set cookies or use local storage, analytics, advertising trackers or embedded social-media widgets. It uses system fonts and serves its own images, styles and scripts. Ordinary links are used for other websites; their content is not embedded into this page.

Contact via LinkedIn

LinkedIn is linked, not embedded. Visiting the profile or sending a message uses LinkedIn’s service and is subject to its Privacy Policy. I process the profile information and message content you share with me to respond to your request, based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and my legitimate interest in answering correspondence.

Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable legal retention obligations. LinkedIn’s own retention rules also apply to data on its platform. The planned IONOS email mailbox is not yet active and is not currently offered as a contact channel.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing of your personal data, and data portability where applicable.

You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Contact the operator using the details in the legal notice.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the EU member state where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.
